Kayla Hamilton stands on one leg in a mirrored pool; her back to the camera. Energy shoots into the ground as she arcs backward, lifts one leg and lets her head follow the pull of her opposite arm as it points to the ground. Behind her, a huge luminescent moon projection encircles her torso and a dense forest fills the background. The Next TiMes

The Next TiMes opens into the near future, a place swirling with ghosts and premonitions, a space where survival and relationships are tenuous. With fervent energy and luscious intimacy, The Next TiMes wrestles with solidity, uncertainty, and the fragile mysteries of the human body in an exploration of resilience, love, power, and connection.

The Next TiMes is about secrets–about what we know, what we think we know, and what can be revealed. As the performance unfolds, the question of who or what to trust becomes ever more important. Realized with an original score, novel audience technology, and otherworldly video projection, it is a stunningly gorgeous multimedia work.

With audio description, ASL music interpretation, and dedicated haptic content, The Next TiMes is artistically and aesthetically accessible, embodying Kinetic Light’s core belief that the art of access and access in art are inextricable.

Facing away from the camera, Alice balances on one knee as she lifts her opposite bent leg and curves her arms. She arches and falls backwards as she gazes up at a falling white feather; others are scattered around her. Alice is a multiracial Black woman with coffee-colored skin and short curly blonde hair. Her metallic bodysuits glint blue-toned rainbows.
